Citizen Sunshine was born in 1981 and was raised in West Los Angeles, California. He has two younger brothers, and an inenumerable number of cousins of many degrees.

Mr Sunshine moved to New York City, New York to attend Columbia College at Columbia University in 1999. There he accepted appointment as college representative to the President's Committee for Campus Security. He pledged the Alpha Chapter of the Zeta Psi Fraternity in 2001, and served as its vice president in 2002; he was also inducted into the Order of Omega greek honors society and served as its vice president in 2002. He was graduated in May 2004 with a baccalaureate degree in both Psychology and Political Science. Beyond his academic concentrations, he pursued education in the classical languages in which the earliest Western texts were written. He matriculated at the Fordham University School of Law in 2005 and after service at its Urban Law Journal, was graduated with honors to a doctorate in law in 2008. He presently lives in the Financial District of New York City.
