I have found an article that has been constantly vandalized. It's vandalism, undo- vandalism, undo. The only non-vandalizing user there is ClueBot NG (whoever made that bot should get a medal, but I digress). Please help me. Put the page on semi-protection, delete it, anything. Please be much more careful in using the vandalism tag for articles. An inadequate article, or one that is a self-help manual rather than an encyclopedic article merits deletion, and I have deleted [[Anxiety antidote] (as an low-quality duplicate of the article [[Anxiety]], but it is not vandalism. It's just a lack of understanding of Wikipedia. Vandalism is a very strong term, and means a deliberate attempt to harm the encyclopedia, as when someone introduces a page that amounts to a obscene joke, or adds totally irrelevant garbage that nobody in their right mind could have thought would be an encyclopedia article. The contributor of that article is well-meaning, and we need to keep in on Wikipedia. I'm about to go to his talk page and try to explain what he needs to do here. Nor am I going to use a template or form notice, but write a personal message from scratch.

The copyediting you have been doing is very good work in general. And you have been reverting true vandalism from articles, which is very good also. But use the word as little as possible--especially in edit summaries, which cannot be edited by normal means, though we admins have a special method (Revision Delete) for dealing with really improper ones. There is never any need to be sarcastic to an editor. The worse it is, actually, many of us think the more neutrally we should remove it--see [[WP:Revert, block, ignore]] and [[WP:Do not insult the vandals]]. Of course, remember to also report anything where the person seems likely to repeat or continue to WP:AIV so the blocking can get done when needed.

In my first few months here, I marked an article on a baseball player's extremely unlikely career as a hoax. Turns out it was actually true and well known to fans of the subject; though people were gentle about instructing me, they must have laughed about my ignorance, and I will never forget it.
