Before her appearance on ''[[Fighting Talk]]'' one Saturday in January 2007, the presenter Colin Murray claims to have discovered (while searching for biographical entries about the contestants to use as introductions) that Eleanor did not have an entry. He and the production team created a page containing a mixture of genuine information and humourous fake information. Fighting talk fans not only improved the page as a genuine entry but added various silly items in amongst the real notes, often referencing previous incidents in the program. Eleanor is usually the only woman panelist when she takes part and so often gets a lot of abuse from the host and other participants which she takes in sporting fashion. |

Eleanor Oldroyd (born Bury, Greater Manchester, June 2, 1962 ?) is an English sports broadcaster with BBC Radio.
Biography
Eleanor Oldroyd was educated at Oxford High School and is married with two children. She started her career at BBC Radio Shropshire before moving to London in 1988. She was a sports journalist at Radio 4 before going to BBC Radio Five Live. By standing in for Ian Payne on Sport on Five in 1995 she became the first female presenter of Sports Report since it started in 1948. She has appeared on most Five Live sports programmes, including Fighting Talk, and is sometimes a ground reporter for Test Match Special.
