Eleanor's Wikipedia Entry

Before her appearance on Fighting Talk one Saturday in January 2007, the presenter Colin Murray claims to have discovered (while searching for biographical entries about the contestants to use as introductions) that Eleanor did not have an entry. He and the production team created a page containing a mixture of genuine information and humourous fake information. Fighting talk fans not only improved the page as a genuine entry but added various silly items in amongst the real notes, often referencing previous incidents in the program. Eleanor is usually the only woman panelist when she takes part and so often gets a lot of abuse from the host and other participants which she takes in sporting fashion.

  • Eleanor has said that fellow Fighting Talk panalist John Rawling ,not knowing who he was talking to, once commented to her husband as she entered the BBC Sportsroom, "'ey 'up, it's Franny Lee". A reference to the footballer Francis Lee.
  • It is often said in jest that she has a secret crush on one of her other Fighting Talk panalists, Steve Bunce
  • Her career in sport started after a short acting career than took her to Hollywood, where several bit part roles led to her landing a role in Police Academy as the prostitute-friend of Mahoney, played by Steve Guttenburg. (Do not be so heartless to the lovely Eleanor - Yes She's A Legend!). In the episode of Fighting Talk first broadcast on 13 January 2007 Colin Murray promised to have this entry corrected at '12 o'clock' that day. Hum.
  • Eleanor is hoping to recover from a career setback which saw her being associated with a cheap and poor quality sports' talk programme broadcast by Five Live on Saturday mornings.

Trivia

  • She shares her birthday with Mark Lawrenson (Pundit on Radio 5) [1]
  • She supports Arsenal despite coming from a family of Birmingham City fans.[2]
