Hockey

Hockey in Eveleth is a big deal. Eveleth is known as the Town of Hockey and has the counties largest and worlds largest free-standing hockey stick in the middle of their downtown. The Eveleth Gilbert Hockey team was combined with Mesabi East and played until 2021. 7 Eveleth-Gilbert players were in the Essentia Health All-Star game played in the Duluth Heritage Arena in 2020 and 2021. Those players were Nick Beaudette, Gage Everson, Will Troutwine, Elliot Van Orsdel, Nick Troutwine, Kolton Bajda, and Brandon Lind. The head coach for one of the 2 All Star Games was Eveleth's Jeff Torrel in both 2020 and 2021.
