== Joseph Priestley ==

Is there any hard evidence that Joseph Priestley actually attended the school ? Many schools in the area have houses, or other things named in his memory, but biographies (on websites) that are quickly available seem contradictory. Most seem to suggest that he left Birstall aged 4 or 6, and returned to Heckmondwike aged around 9, but was a notable religious figure by 16. The articles I’ve seen saying he did go to Batley Grammar, say only that he was educated at the school , but omit information about the moves. Many accounts say he didn’t go to school at all but was educated by his aunt and by tutors. Presumably the school could look it up on SIMS ! :-)

Tim Fountain?

Has anyone herd of Tim Fountain I think he has created these pages himself and wants to boast, he is defiantly not a notable old boy of the school. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Philipbembridge (talkcontribs) 19:00, 26 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Joseph Priestley
