Death Toll Rises to one Every ThreeSeconds!
Hi, my name is Kyle Mayfield, and I live in Greenville , NY . I’m 15 years old, a Christian and home schooled. There is this thing called The Thirty Hour Famine. What it is, is my siblings, our youth group and I are going to be raising money for this Christian organization called World Vision. What they do is with all of the money that’s raised, is they buy food for kids in Africa and other countries. Because there is no food in those places, and one child dies every three seconds from hunger or malnutrition! So every kid can be fed one day’s worth for only one single dollar! Now, what we will do for the Thirty Hour Famine is not eat a single grain of food for thirty hours, and we try to get sponsors and send every cent to World Vision so that they can buy food for the children. So if someone were to pledge one dollar per hour I didn’t eat, I would get thirty dollars, which is enough for one child for one month. If I could get 12 people to pledge one dollar per hour that I fast, it would feed someone for an entire year! Or just 24 people to pledge that amount would be enough for one child for two entire years! And by all means, 24 is not at all enough. You could send any amount, more or less than thirty dollars.
