MQL5.community, also known as MQL5 Community, is a resource launched by MetaQuotes in 2010 for traders and developers involved in algorithmic trading.[1] The site provides access to a number of services used in conjunction with the MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 trading platforms. Among them is the store of ready-made applications for the platforms, for example, signals used for copy trading[2]. MQL5.community also offers quotes containing data on futures, financial and stock markets, as well as tools for monitoring exchanges and liquidity providers.

History

In June 2011, MetaQuotes launched an MQL5.community-based competition of trading robots developed with MQL5 programming language with a prize pool of $80 000, called Automated Trading Championship.[3]

MQL5.community presented copy trading option through signal providers for MetaTrader 5[4] in the October 2012. Later, at the end of the month Trading Signals became available also for MetaTrader 4 users.[5]

In January 2013, users of the MetaTrader 5 for iPhones has been introduced with the secure chat function using the MQL5.community's MetaQuotes ID accounts.[6]

At the end of September 2015, MetaTrader 4 Client Build Terminal 880 version was released with access to MT4 account via browser and WebTerminal section on MQL5.community website. Thus, the MetaTrader 4 trading platform has become available for MacOS users.[7] The beta version of the MetaTrader 5 Web includes hedging features that previously appeared in the desktop version, support for 30 technical indicators & 24 analytical objects plus a set of trading orders. The web-client is translated into 41 languages.[8]

In March 2017, MetaQuotes absorbed the Forex-TSD developer forum with 270,000 monthly visitors and moved it to MQL5.community, retaining user accounts.[9]

In May 2017, MQL5.community introduced the economic calendar, a market analysis tool that allows to track macroeconomic events and collect data in real time from public sources.[10]
