Inaccurate information

Please check the citations for the figures given, the number causalities were unknown and the egyptians sent 2500 first and at the battle of gura 2000. The egyptians were massively outnumbered and that’s what explains the defeat. Ethiopians were very primitive 178.164.236.201 (talk) 16:05, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your figures don't correspond with the source (see the quote from source #1 in the ref section). In addition, a source used at Egyptian–Ethiopian War states:

Against the background of these events the Egyptian army which was to fight at Gura began to disembark in Massawa early in February 1876. It consisted of 11,120 men. Together with the remnants of Arrendrup's contingent its strength was estimated at 12,000. [...] A brigade of fresh [Egyptian] troops, 5,000 strong, was also approaching.[1]
