* Mark Ferguson (news presenter)
Reason: There has been a persistent alteration of the spousal information (from Mrs Jayne Ferguson to Dennis Ferguson, a convicted Australian child sex offender who died in 2012.) by 120.19.142.138 on 27 September 2023, 120.17.162.40 on 16 September 2023, and 120.18.61.11 on 6 September 2023. This vandalism is distressing not only to Mr Mark Ferguson but also to his wife. I note the Wikipedia policy is to issue warnings to desist, but this is not practicable with anonymous posts. I respectfully suggest that this page needs to be protected.

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – People can not stop changing birth city. Nswix (talk) 23:24, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Nswix: I don't see sufficiently many recent problematic edits to justify protection. If there are several, please identify them. The main problem with this request is that article talk is blank. There should be a polite explanation regarding whatever the problem is. That helps editors and admins here. Johnuniq (talk) 01:40, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Page's history is full of constant addition of unsourced content by IPs, sockpuppetery and edit warring. Kiu99 (talk) 00:44, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Kiu99: Is this an "India vs. Pakistan" issue? I can see there is a problem but the current editor is the only one engaging on article talk and it is hard for someone here to protect without a clear explanation on talk. You don't have to convince the other contributors, but there should be a justification. Johnuniq (talk) 01:45, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there is long term nationalistic disruption ongoing on multiple food pages like these by this sockpuppet. This page is just one of their recent targets. I've further left a comment on the talk page about the reasons why their editing is disruptive. Kiu99 (talk) 02:47, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The edit warring has begun again. Kiu99 (talk) 09:15, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – literally nonstop vandalism, would recommend semi protection. 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒎𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔𝒔 (talk) 02:02, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Declined The article already has PC protection and, given the slow cadence of vandalism (2-3 occurrences weekly), it seems within the ability of the PC reviewers to mitigate. Let me know if I'm missing something, though. Chetsford (talk) 07:35, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite extended protection: Sockpuppetry. Solomon The Magnifico is using IP addresses to force his version of the article again and again and making large scale changes without talk discussions. A sock puppet investigation is ongoing against the IP address at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Solomon The Magnifico. PadFoot2008 (talk) 06:20, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: They having a issues of bandmates. CrimeFind31 (talk) 07:21, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DeclinedPages are not protected preemptively. Chetsford (talk) 07:32, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. QuantumRealm (meowpawtrack) 09:07, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of 1 week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected.--Ymblanter (talk) 09:55, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Persistent vandalism: semi-protected for one thousand years. Xuli11 (talk) 09:51, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of 1 month, after which the page will be automatically unprotected.--Ymblanter (talk) 09:54, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
