The Wiki Science Competition celebrates the fusion of science and photography through an international photo contest. It invites participants to showcase the wonders of science through captivating imagery. This competition serves as a platform for individuals to share their scientific discoveries and phenomena. The Science Wiki Contest spans from November 1 to December 31, 2023, inviting participants globally. Originating in Estonia, it expanded to Europe in 2015 and reached other parts of the world by 2017. The Igbo Wikimedians are actively engaging in the 2023 competition and encouraging their members to join either by uploading science related media on commons or creating/translating science related articles on the Igbo Wikipedia—a first for Nigeria in Wiki science competition.

To take part, you must own the photos you intend to share on Commons and have the necessary permissions. Ensure your submissions are of high quality, with proper descriptions detailing the subject, location, and relevant information. Categorize your photos appropriately under Images from Wiki Science Competition 2023 in the Igbo Community on Commons. Click here to see this category.
