The Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) Class 6400 diesel locomotives were built by Maschinenbau Kiel (MaK) from 1988 to 1994. 120 of these locomotives were built, numbered 6401-6520. These locomotives are now property of Railion, and operate freight trains, frequently in pairs or in threes.

Some locomotives have PZB or Memor installed and are allowed in German or Belgium. These locomotives have the nickname Duitse Herder (German Shepherd) or Vlaamse Reus (Flemish Giant).
