POV?
Content of the article seems factually correct but the highly loaded(charged) wording shoud be corrected. Explanation is in Maxist point of view.
Only devotees of the JVP could possibly be interested in the better than two-thirds of this article that goes on about splits in the 'movement'.
Tamil Representation
Completely unmentioned is the lack of tamil representation in the JVP compared to other Marxist parties in the country.
1971 Uprising
Why is there no mention of the old leaders? Podi Athula, Loku Athula, Uyangoda, etc???
1983 Ethnic riots
What is "Vasudeva Baahu Vikrambaahu Kanakaratna’s" Party ? The NSSP? Who is Kanakaratna?
1989 violence
i've tried to add some counter-balance to this marxist apology but it's a terrible article and needs more attention than i can give. Aside from the prose, however hard it is to pin down the facts surrounding the JVP in 1989, anyone who was there at the time knows that they were in the thick of the appalling violence and a primary actor.
