The Gabriel García Márquez - El Tunal Public Library, designed by architects Suely Vargas Nóbrega, Manuel Antonio Guerrero and Marcia Wanderley, was inaugurated on May 10, 2001, forming part of the Tunal Park in the south of Bogotá. The library has an area of 6.826 m² and a capacity for 110,000 volumes. It is a three-story structure with different specialised rooms. The reference room, the literature room and the main one are located in the central part. Inside the main room, is the video library and the sound library, where documentaries can be watched and music can be listened to, respectively.
