I've updated the GLX Digital company page to reflect changes to the business over the years. The company is no longer based in Singapore, the original product is no longer offered to the market and two new products have since been launched.

GLX Digital

Based in Perth, Western Australia, GLX Digital was established in 2016 and develops and sells Software as a Service (SaaS) enterprise applications for the commodities market.

The company offers two products: GLX Cargo and GLX Connect. The applications automate and digitise workflows associated with transaction execution, resource planning, internal and external communications, sales and purchase execution, commercial cargo operations and real time data analysis.

Both applications are provided under subscription license agreements and are private meaning they are wholly owned and managed, including customer and staff access, by the customer.

Products

GLX Digital’s flagship product, GLX Cargo, is a cargo management application developed to automate workflows and help commercial cargo operations teams manage essential aspects of cargo delivery in real time. The software helps cargo operators manage their commodity cargo positions on both the buy-side and sell-side of a transaction.

GLX Connect is a tender and auction application that connects commodity companies directly with their customers and enables them to capture and analyse trade data.

Management

GLX Digital is a publicly unlisted company. It is chaired by Philip Byrne, former executive vice president marketing and trading, commercial and business development at Santos Energy. The CEO is Damien Criddle.

Company History

GLX Digital was established in 2016 for the purpose of developing workflow management software solutions for the global Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) industry.

In 2016 the company launched the GLX Platform, also known as the Global LNG Marketplace, which allowed subscribed members to post offers to sell or requests to buy LNG cargoes, and then let other participants anonymously bid on proposals.

Based on customer feedback, GLX Digital pivoted away from The Global LNG Marketplace in July 2021, discontinuing the product and at the same time launching GLX Connect, the company’s digital tender and auction solution, which is now used in the LNG, lithium and iron ore commodity segments.

Recognising a gap in the market for a solution that digitises the complex and time-consuming workflows unique to commercial cargo operations, GLX Digital launched GLX CARGO in June 2022.
