City Hospital railway station, situated on Donegall Road, serves Belfast City Hospital and the surrounding area of south Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is one of the four stations located in the city centre, the others being Botanic, Lanyon Place, and the under-construction Grand Central.
The station opened on 6 October 1986, and is very close to Botanic Station[1]
Service
On Mondays to Saturdays, there is a half-hourly service towards Belfast Lanyon Place and Bangor, or Lisburn and Portadown on Bangor/Portadown Line services, with extra trains at peak times.
During the construction of Belfast Grand Central, City Hospital is a terminus for specific peak-time and weekend Larne Line services running through from Whitehead or Larne Harbour - at other times a half-hourly shuttle service operates to and from here and Lanyon Place - this is technically classed as a Larne Line service in timetables.
City Hospital is currently the temporary terminus of the Derry~Londonderry Line during Grand Central construction, with services terminating here hourly, or departing hourly for Coleraine and Derry~Londonderry.
On Sundays, the Bangor, Portadown and Larne Line services all reduce to hourly operation. The Derry Line service alternates each hour between services to Derry~Londonderry and Portrush.
