Miroslav Michalek (born 30 June 1965) is a former hockey goalkeeper, later the president of the HKm Zvolen hockey club and a player's agent. He is a member of the Slovak Association of Olympians. He currently works and does business in Dublin, Ireland.

Education

After successfully completing the study of transport at the secondary school in Zvolen, he finished the study of an effective management in Banská Bystrica (2000); Marketing, Business, Management in Lausanne (2010) and Hockey GM and Scouting in Portland (2015). Now he is studying Finance and Investment in Dublin.

Hockey career

In 1982 - 1999, he was a professional hockey goalkeeper. He played 127 games for HC Slovan Bratislava.

He was part of the Czechoslovak olympic team (1990 - 1992) and the Slovak national team (1993 - 1998). He represented Slovakia at the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer, where the Slovak team finished in 6th place at its premiere. He was a member of the team at the memorable World Championships group "C" in Slovakia and also a member of the Slovak national team at the 1998 World Championships in Switzerland.

Other activities

After his career he worked as a player's agent with an NHLPA license (2001 – 2011). He was one of the four Europeans and also the first in Slovakia with an NHLPA license. He was the president of the hockey extraleague club HKm Zvolen, the founder and owner of the HC Jackals team played in the Russian MHL. However, due to the beginning of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in 2014, this team lost a large part of its sponsors and had to end its performance in the Russian league before the start of the league.

He founded GMG Sport and HW Group. Since may 2019, he has been working in Dublin, Ireland, where he works for his company Michalek Investments Limited, which is the part of the HW Group portfolio.
