The Austrian Society for European Law (ÖGER, German acronym for Österreichische Gesellschaft für Europarecht) is an Austrian association founded in 1988.[1] As a national sub-organisation of the Fédération Internationale pour le Droit Européen (FIDE),[2] its aim is to foster and support scholarship in the area of European Union law in Austria.[3] Since 1999, it awards the Jean Monnet Science Award for European Law for doctoral theses with a focus on formal or substantive EU law approved at an Austrian university.[4][5][6] Furthermore, since 2019, it publishes the ÖGER Research Paper Series, which has been set up with the aim to publish excellent works of young scholars in the field of EU law written at the Universities of Vienna and Krems.[7][8][9]
