Lebanese Arabic pronunciation: [mʊˈħɑmmɑd ˈɑħmɑd ʃɑħˈruːr] born May 15, 1993, in Berlin) is a Lebanese actor, composer and music producer.

Life and Career

Mohamed Chahrour was born as the sixth of eight children to a Lebanese family. His parents fled the Lebanese Civil War to West Berlin in the mid-1980s. Chahrour grew up with Arabic as his native language and initially struggled with the German language, which made him feel more comfortable in creative subjects like the theater club and music lessons from the beginning.

At the age of 16, Chahrour started producing his own songs, despite initial resistance from his musician father. He quickly established connections in the French music scene, collaborating with both newcomers and established artists, and later expanded his work to the German music scene.

In 2016, Chahrour was approached by a talent scout looking for actors for a series. Although a collaboration didn't materialize, this motivated Chahrour to pursue an acting career on his own.

Later he began working with a London agent to expand his international presence.

Chahrour co-produced the song "Heavyweight" with GEE Futuristic, featured on the 2018 release Hoodtape 3 from Kollegah's album Monument.

In 2021, Chahrour, along with journalist Marcus Staiger, launched the podcast "Clanland - Schrecklich nette Familiengeschichten," (The Title „Awfully Nice Family Stories“ "Clanland - Schrecklich nette Familiengeschichten" is derived from the title of the sitcom "Eine schrecklich nette Familie," known as "Married... with Children" in English.) The podcast was created in collaboration with RBB (Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg).

It became one of the most successful German podcasts of the year and was nominated for the German Radio Award. In this podcast, Chahrour and Staiger delve into the lives and challenges of Arab Clans in Germany, conducting interviews with clan members, politicians, and other experts. It was the first project of its kind to show the families from an inside perspective and to challenge prevailing narratives. He also composed the music for the podcast.

In 2022, he was included in the "30 to 30" list by the prestigious weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT. This award recognizes young talents and emerging leaders in Germany who stand out for their outstanding achievements and commitment in various fields.

Later that year, Chahrour published the book "Dakhil - Inside Arabische Clans", which he co-authored with Marcus Staiger. The book explores the stories of Arab clans in Germany, providing insights into the lives of these large families and the historical and political backgrounds that have led to their current challenges. Despite the podcast's success, finding a German publisher for the book proved difficult, and it was eventually published by the rapper Raf Camora's publishing house, GHØST.

In addition to his career in music and acting, Chahrour holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Gabriel Rainho and Julio Cesar Pereira, and he teaches MMA in Berlin. He is regularly interviewed on topics related to migration policy, racism, clans, and the lives of people with migrant backgrounds in Germany.
