She then went to the School of Art Institute of Chicago, where she received a bachelor of fine arts in 2012. These underwater photographs later served as a basis for most of the underwater paintings of Perlmutter. Her paintings involved a representation of her subjects, combined with underwater fluid impressions, lightning, and shadows. Through her paintings, Perlmutter portrays the connection of humans with nature.[5][8][15] |

Early life and education

Following her early education in 2008, Perlmutter studied painting and Latin American Studies at Bates College until 2010.
