He scored a try for Scotland against Japan in the Rugby World Cup, 2003. He plays professional rugby for Borders Reivers. Stuart previous clubs include Newcastle falcons, Caledonian Reds, Watsonians and Robert Gordon's College. Stuart is married to Trish a GP.
