Florent Malouda (born June 13 1980 in Cayenne, French Guiana) is a French football player. He is a midfielder, playing for Olympique Lyonnais and the French national team. Malouda is married to a Brazilian named Florencia, and they have one child, a son named Aaron born on November 30, 2005.

Clubs

Before joining Olympique Lyonnais, Malouda played 57 games in the French Ligue 1 championship with Châteauroux and 92 games with Guigamp where perhaps his undeniable talent first began to shine.

On 20 May 2007, he was awarded French Ligue 1 Player of the Year ahead of Johan Elmander, Seydou Keita, Abdul Kader Keita.[1] after helping Lyon retained the French Ligue 1 title, contributing 8 goals and 5 assists.

Currently, he seems likely to leave Olympique Lyonnais for about £8-12 million, with a host of clubs intrested in his signature, including Arsenal and Liverpool.

National team

He has 28 caps with the French national team, scoring 3 goals.

Malouda was included in the French squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The French left winger started all but the first game of the tournament.
