Congratulations for antagonising Rlest so much that he's once again decided to go on a long wikibreak. Do you people never know when to let sleeping dogs lie. Go leave an apology on his page and with a bit of luck he'll maybe not have been overly pissed off with your childish and immature behaviour. [[User:Nick|Nick]] 18:16, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Revision as of 18:38, 27 July 2007

Busy reading. In Puerto Rico, classes begin on August 15. Because of this, Boricuaeddie's editing rate will drastically reduce and he will only be able to edit from 22:00 P.M. until 3:00 A.M. (UTC). If you have an urgent query, please remain calm. He will try to reply to messages ASAP. Happy editing!

How dare you disrupt my userpage!

Sorry for bothering, but I need to ask you somethig. Image:SBPlankton.jpg is another of the 'fair use' images right? Any other image that is copyrighted means the same?

Anyway... all of those "special" images.... Where they come from? (I mean how are they used). I just want to know how it works and why these images are not available in the spanish wikipedia.

WikiProject Articles for creation

WikiProject Articles for creation Backlog Elimination Drive News!

We are one week in to the drive, and it's already going fantastic. Numerous days of backlogs have been tackled, with hundreds of articles having been reviewed. We do, however, have some news!

First off, a HUGE congratulations to everyone participating so far. I understand some members are inactive due to vacation, but we are still making great progress.

Secondly, make sure that before you go off and review old submissions, that you review all submissions for the present day, and the day before, so that we aren't actually making a bigger backlog, by letting submissions get archived while we're checking stuff from 2006.

Third, remember to update your running total, on the drive page. Honesty is the best policy, so if you lie about the number of articles you've reviewed, we'll all make angry faces while looking at your userpage.

And, last, if you have any questions about the drive, feel free to ask me, or any other members of the project.

Great job, everyone! We're going to get that backlog!
GrooveDog.

re: Canvassing

Crap! I didn't realize. Should I delete the notes I left or just not do it again? I'm really sorry; I felt a little funny about it and almost didn't do it, but I figured that, since I wasn't trying to stack the deck in my favor, it would be OK. I certainly won't do it again. Pr 2.0 16:18, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just read WP:CANVAS, and since I didn't post my message to very many people (only 12), rather than spend time striking out each message and wasting more WP resources, I'm just going to leave them. (unless you feel strongly otherwise). I mean, they'll see the message either way, anyhow. Let me know if you disagree, and I'll take care of it right away. Please don't miscontrue this note. I do feel bad for the breach of policy (or at least etiquette) and will not do it again. Pr 2.0 16:31, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RAWR!

Enjoy school restarting :P

You think it's unfair? I'm editing at school :P Giggy UCP 02:41, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Why am I editing at school? Because it's the coolest :D And because my school gives us Tablet PCs, and because I'm way ahead of the class.  :) Giggy UCP 02:44, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AFC Backlog

Thank you for participating in the AFC Backlog Drive.

I noticed your tally is at 0. As soon as you edit 1 article not only are you eligible for a Sandwich of Exceptional Excellence, but you'll be among the dirty dozen that are cleaning up the backlog. Please find one of the backlog pages in and review at least one of the submissions, then update your totals. Every review helps! davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 04:34, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You may like...

To add importScript ('User:Henrik/js/afc-helper.js'); into your monobook.js as it helps with organising the articles for creation requests. Regards, — Rlest (formerly Qst) 16:07, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unusual Adoption Request

Hi! Im an English teacher in Toluca Mexico (west of Mexico City). My Advanced B classes will be contributing to Wikipedia as the focus of their English course for Fall 2007. I am looking for people who would like to mentor my students (who will be working in groups) as they do the following assignments: Edit and article (adding a citation), writing a stub with a citation, translating an English language article for Spanish Wikipedia and for the final project, writing a full article for English Wiki (they can expand on the stub mentioned previously). What I would like to do is put a list of "mentors/adopters" on my talk page as a kind of short cut for my students, who have limited time to get things done. The semester begings Aug 6, but the real Wikipedia work wont begin until the beginning of Sept. If you would like to add your name to my list, please go to my talk page and add it there, perhaps with a short introduction, if you like.

Thank you!

You've been loved by Arknascar44

Hey there! Arknascar44 has loved you by placing a heart icon in the top-right corner of your userpage. Don't worry, it's not vandalism, but simply a small way to spread the WikiLove. Remember to pass it on to all your friends by adding {{User:Arknascar44/Love Cabal}} to the top of their pages. Don't forget to add your name here! Love and best wishes, Arky ¡Hablar Conmigo! 22:56, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey no prob, Eddie. Don't forget to sign =P Arky ¡Hablar Conmigo! 23:14, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are you implying that I am a sockpuppet?

The reason I had no other edits outside of Eugene Rowan, was that I am a new wikiuser. Of course I will only have few edits! I have several edits now and you dont need to worry, you can checkuser me. By the way, If I was his sockpuppet why would I vote "Delete"?

Apology accepted, you assumed that I was a sockpuppet, but we are all human.

P.S. I went to a Jesuit School as well. James Luftan 02:04, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Curious, though, that a "new wikiuser" would know the terms sockpuppet and checkuser. —Travistalk 02:07, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Very curious, indeed.... --Boricuaeddie 02:12, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am not a new user so to speak, I've had an account on here before, and before I had began editting again, I refreshed my mind on some of wikipedia policies.

To boricua, I do not put "warn user" on every AfD, I did twice, once to an authour who created the page several times, and the other time, I was at first against it.

To Travis, sockpuppet is a common term on many, many forums... James Luftan 02:19, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, it is ;-) --Boricuaeddie 02:20, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
(...and Wikipedia is not a forum.) When I wrote "new wikiuser," I wasn't assuming that you were new here, I was quoting your first post above, so forgive me if I've jumped to conclusions. In any case, you're correct about sockpuppet but, unless I'm mistaken, checkuser is pretty wikimedia-specific.
However, it is still curious when an apparent new user (or someone who has been on an extended wikibreak) jumps directly into commenting and !voting on AfDs. —Travistalk 02:37, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Although all edits are important (I made a few to the James Coonan article), AfDs seem to be the most fun and interesting. (Forgive me for sounding evil (and a little odd) but the fate of an article may rest in your hands...MUAHAHA. Just kidding.). I like them because they are a major cleanup - and sometimes funny. On the subject of check users: I lurked around the wikipages for a few days to make sure nothing changed and I still remember it(checkuser also has to do with sockpuppetry). James Luftan 02:48, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough, I was just making an observation on an obvious enigma. —Travistalk 02:52, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine; I didn't know how to do the box. I just added the link to the previous RfA. Thanks for adding the box. Acalamari 16:49, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
