Songs from the Sparkle Lounge is the working title of the forthcoming album from the English hard rock band Def Leppard. It scheduled for release in 2008. It will be the band's first album of brand new material since their 2002 album X.

History

In an Interview on Rockline Radio, two band members, Joe Elliot and Vivian Campbell stated that the title of their forthcoming studio album, to be released in 2008, would be Songs from the Sparkle Lounge, saying that "Until someone comes up with a better name this will be the final title upon release".[1] They also mentioned the possibility of Mutt Lange, one of their previous producers, being involved with a few songs for the album[1].

In an interview with Billboard.com, Joe Elliott stated that the album title is a reference to an area backstage of gigs, where the band would work on new material. "It was a mini (drum) kit, mini amps, a tape recorder and sparkly lights"[2]. Elliot also stated that they will not be performing any previews of the songs, as they do not want them appearing on websites, such as YouTube a long time before it is released[2]. Drummer Rick Allen recently announced that they had finished working on the album until after the 2007 tour.[3]
