FK Banat Zrenjanin (Serbian Cyrillic: ФК Банат Зрењанин) is a Serbian football club from the city of Zrenjanin. It plays in the Serbian Superliga. The club was formed when Budućnost from the small town of Banatski Dvor and another former club from Zrenjanin, Proleter Zrenjanin merged. The merge was finalized on January 25, 2006 though the club started playing matches under a new name some six months later at the start of 2006/07 season. The club plays its matches at the Karađorđev Park Stadium, the stadium of the former Zrenjanin club, FK Proleter Zrenjanin.

It took Budućnost Banatski Dvor seat on Serbian Superliga.

History

Since the club is very young, it has no real success in its existence. In European competitions, the club played under the name of Proleter Zrenjanin in the UEFA Intertoto Cup 1997, where it finished 4th in the group. It also represented Serbia in the UEFA Cup 2004-05, where it was eliminated in the Second Qualifying Round by NK Maribor on the away goals rule.
