Neil McGregor (born 17 July 1985 in Irvine), is a Scottish football defender currently playing for Clyde. McGregor began his career with Kilmarnock, but failed to make the grade with them.

McGregor signed for Clyde in the summer 2005, and scored on his debut in the Scottish Challenge Cup against Brechin City. McGregor has went from strength to strength since joining Clyde, and was awarded the Man of the Match award during Clyde's 5-2 extra time defeat to Rangers in the Scottish League Cup. He missed virtually the whole of the first half of 2006 with a series of injuries, including strained ankle ligaments and a fractured cheekbone.

McGregor was appointed Clyde captain in January 2007, due to the departure of Paul McHale. However, due to injury, McGregor was sidelined for the rest of the season, allowing Michael McGowan to captain the side. McGowan was officially appointed as team captain in August 2007, whereas McGregor was given the role of club captain.[1]

McGregor was selected in the SPFA First Division Team of 2006-07. In August 2007, Carlisle United were reported to have table an offer of £100,000 for McGregor. However, this offer fell through when Carlisle sacked their manager.[2]
