NEO Shifters are a line of toys designed by MEGA Brands Inc. The novelty behind these toys is their unique ball shape which spreads opens into a robotic action figure and releases a second miniature creature from its belly, resulting in an exciting two in one toy with multiple play possibilities.
NEO Shifters are divided into two factions.
Some NEO Shifters, like Paladins, believe in responsible consumption of resources, that survival of the Galaxy very much depends on finding alternative methods of producing and preserving energy resources. These NEO Shifters are prepared to defend the Galaxy from the depletion of such resources.
Other NEO Shifters, like Templars, are venturing to extrapolate and take unscrupulous advantage of vital planetary resources for purely reckless and malignant advancement. They believe the Galaxy has an unlimited supply of resources and are ultimately attracted to the power derived from controlling its consumption.
Children are invited to Join the Resistance and stand up for their faction. A complex series of codes found on the toys and elsewhere can be used to boost individual power in a Massively Multiplayer Online Game dedicated to the advancement of the NEO Shifter adventure.
Creation
With more than one hundred professionals, including Designers, Graphic Designers and Engineers, MEGA Brands Inc. design and development team is one of most important in Canada.
5 years ago, MEGA Brands Inc. designers and engineers revolutionized the world of construction blocks by introducing the first buildable, robot action figure.
In 2006 this same group decided to redefine the category once again! Dozens and dozens of conceptual sketches and as many study models were produced in order to seek the direction that this new character would take! One of these drafts had a spherical heart and the designers where hooked - The android itself was to be transformed into a sphere!
In order to determine initial parameters of the character, the advance design team created a model of the concept. When the moment came to conceive its spherical heart, it became obvious that the center of the robot would be its pilot or brain: Thus was born the NEO!
At that very moment, a multidisciplinary team was assembled and dedicated to the development of the NEOShifter. Their goal was to establish an optimum level of playability for a buildable, transformable action figure. More than sixty new parts were simultaneously developed, with designers and engineers conferring in real time and referring to a virtually assembled Shifter in spherical and humanoid mode.
In the past 5 years, Mega Brands’ design group have distinguished themselves from the competition with highly detailed parts in their historic Dragons and Pyrates lines. They have adapted this same rigorous recipe to the futuristic styling of NEOShifters in order to offer children a complex object, allowing them to hold in their hands the visual depth and richness of video games!
