:There's a travel wiki for that kind of content, this is supposed to be an encyclopaedia. Some information on the market and surroundings is relevant, but article should concentrate on history and what the area is like. The existing list needs to be knocked back to just ''notable'' establishments - one reason might be being there a long time. Others, just have to go. Crime and safety

I have added a Crime and safety section and moved stuff there. Removed the comments in the first section on crime and murder, and added facts and statistics. Unfortunately recent events rather justify the unsourced comments. Pol098 15:58, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've deleted some of what I wrote in this section, as I can't reconcile figures from the police and from camdenresources in the time available. Pol098 16:29, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the (uncited) sentence about illegal taxis touting for business in Camden - this is not known to happen in Camden Town?? --Buyoof 13:36, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

We've got a number of reviews - we don't say whether somewhere is good or not - we are an encyclopedia not a tour guide. Secretlondon 01:22, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Style

A lot of this article is written in the stilted style of a travel guide. I don't have the time to fix it right now though. DrHydeous 12:53, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Content

A lot of this article has travel-guide-like information. As long as it's not pushing things for commercial interests, this seems OK to me: if I'm going to visit a place, I'd certainly have a look at Wikipedia. But I think it's worth discussing.

For example, the Dublin Castle has been there a long time and has its own character, and must be mentioned. The relatively recent Oh Bar is mentioned, and offers free WiFi access, but has no particular distinction: should it be there? (I myself added it, in the spirit of some existing entries).

I've also reinstated a reference to the prevalence of crime in unlicensed minicabs: relevant to visitors, without pushing any viewpoint. A section on crime in general has been deleted; I don't know if the deletion was justified.

Someone is very intent on advertising a particular school of English here; I've deleted stuff a couple of times. Pol098 02:40, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
