Solovair is a brand of British made boots and footwear established in 1881. They are based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire an area famous for it's shoe industry.

They were the original manufacturers of AirWair suspension soles in the UK under licence from Dr. Martens, who later popularised the style.

Today they remain one of the few manufacturers of quality boots left in the United Kingdom, although they are hard to find, largely to distribution issues. That said they are sought after by punks and skinheads seeking good quality British made boots ever since Dr. Martens moved production to China

They come in a variety of styles, colours, and number of eyelets, but recognisable features include orange, rather than yellow stitching around the top of the sole, and a green and black tag at the top of the heel with the Solovair logo and "Soft Sole Suspension" on the back. The bottom of the sole has the Solovair logo, otherwise they appear very much like standard "AirWair" style boots.
