William Mitchell is a fictional character in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders. He is played by a baby called Toby Walpole.

Background

William Mitchell (Junior) was born to parents Billy and Honey Mitchell, after Honey had a fall and the placenta became dislodged. When he was born, it seemed that William had died because he wasn't breathing, however he eventually pulled through. It was his mum, Honey, who came up with the idea for him to be named after his father. Honey felt guilty that she was happy that he did not have the same illness as his sister Janet.
