Terry L. Witte (born September 28, 1952) is an attorney, and a Democratic member of the Missouri House of Representatives. He represents the 10th District of Missouri, which includes Pike county and parts of Lincoln, Audrain, Calloway, and Montgomery counties. He resides in Vandalia, Missouri, with his wife, Linda. They have two children, Jonathan and Aaron.
He was born in Montgomery City, Missouri, and served in the United States Army from 1972-1974. He went on to the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he received a B.S. in education in 1977 and a J.D. in 1980. He currently has his own law practice in Vandalia, Missouri.
He is a member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church, the Vandalia Rotary Club, Quail Unlimited, the National Rifle Association, and the Missouri Military Preparedness and Enhancement Commission, as well as many civic and community organizations.
He was first elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2002, winning reelection in 2004 and 2006. He currently sits on the following committees:
- Appropriations - Agriculture and Natural Resources,
- Agriculture Policy,
- Conservation and Natural Resources, and
- Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs,
Known for his dry sense of humor and thorough understanding of legislation, Witte is a leader on the Democratic side of the House. He served as Deputy Minority Whip for his first two terms and is now the ranking Democrat on the Ag Policy committee.
