Welcome to Animum's talk page

I believe your move of the article Invader Zim to Invader ZIM completely goes against what this naming convention says (especially since this article is specifically mentioned on this section as the article title being moved to Invader Zim.) All I see is editors on the talk page saying to ignore our core guidelines, not consensus as you stated. — Save_Us_229 22:19, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved the article back to Zim since I wasn't aware that the guideline did not encourage exceptions. Regards, —Animum (talk) 00:50, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to my userpage

Thanks for your edit to my userpage. I was trying to get the indentation in the new section to line up with that of the old one, but didn't succeed and finally gave up, so I appreciate your attention to the matter. I see, though, that your edit changed the text portions of the top two sections from left-justified to centered. Was that intentional, and do you think it looks better that way? I'll trust your judgment on this crucial issue. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 00:06, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My judgement is ... *Drum roll* text-align:left. —Animum (talk) 00:38, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copy editing request

Dear Animum,

I recently requested a copy edit from the League of Copy Editors and noticed that your name is included on the list of members. At this writing, Jimmy McAleer, a B-class biography of an old-time American baseball figure, is in the peer review process. So far, all reviewers have suggested that the article is ready to send to the GAC. A couple of them recommended that I send it straight to the FAC. Before considering the latter, I would like to ensure that the article is as clean as possible. I'd greatly appreciate any time you're able to devote to it. Season's greetings, -- twelsht (talk) 15:14, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hi!

I was browsing trough the list of potential adopters and i landed on you! can you adopt me? —Preceding unsigned comment added by SpanxBox (talkcontribs) 19:31, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

semi-protection

Hi Animum!
Could you do me a favour and semi-protect my user-page? It has not been vandalized yet and I would like to leave it "un-vandalized". ;-)
Thanks for your support

Thanks, but, hey, it's not my fault I was born in this problem/angst-ridden country in central Europe. ;-) Ever been to Germany? Not much fun there, I can tell you. And de.wikipedia is absolutely "nightmarish" --Fromgermany (talk) 20:46, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've always wanted to go to Germany, actually, but I hardly edit dewiki. I'm from the USA and please don't tell me you want to go to this problem-ridden country. ;-) —Animum (talk) 20:48, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, all I can advise is - stay away from de.wikipedia. Most articles there are unsourced, most sysops like to do "user-bashing" and the overall tone of voice leaves a lot to be desired. :-(( I've given up editing there com-ple-te-ly. I very much prefer the Anglo-Saxons. You people are very friendly, even when you're online, yeeeeeeeaaaaaaah. --Fromgermany (talk) 20:53, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not Anglo-Saxon, but okay. Animum (talk) 20:57, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A warm welcome

Thaaaaaaaaaanks for your welcoming words but I arrived here in 2005. It was only recently that I decided to do more frequent/regular/daily edits when I decided that de.wikipedia is nothing but a pile of shit. (Oops, sorry for using such bad language, but it's true) I still like the "wiki-philosophy" nevertheless so I set up my new and permanent home at a wiki-place I had explored before. Oh, and by the way, in Europe we're taught (at school as well as at our universities) that the Americans also belong to the Anglo-Saxon "tribe". All native speakers of English are labelled Anglo-Saxon. Incredible, isn't it?? ;-) --Fromgermany (talk) 21:25, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. :-) —Animum (talk) 21:26, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
