Dr. Laleh Khalili is an Iranian-American and a lecturer in Middle East Politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. She received her PhD from Columbia University. Her main research areas are policing and incarceration, gender, nationalism, political and social movements, refugees and diasporas in the Middle East.[1] Her commentary on Middle Eastern and Iranian affairs has been used in several newspapers including the Washington Post[1], the San Francisco Chronicle [2], the Chicago Tribune, the Financial Times ,and Agence France-Presse.
