"St Albert's Day" is the seventh episode of Open All Hours second season. |
== Plot == |
Granville (David Jason) is feeling again down in spirits, when Arkwright (Ronnie Barker) meets Statchik, an Hungarian inmigrant who has returned to Great Britain, looking for an old love of his. Arkwright has a double trouble with this customer. He suspects that he could be Granville's father (and does not want Granville to find out) and suspects that he could be a shoplifter. He manages to have Granville to frisk the Hungarian, ellaborating that it is "St Albert's Day" and it is mandatory to have strange greeting traditions. |
To cheer up Granville, Arkwright and Nurse Gladys Emmanuel (Lynda Baron) invent a new story for Granville, that he could be the errant son on a duke related to King George. Granville rapidly forgets about his "Hungarian roots", thrilled that he has royal blood, and being between 7th and 27th on the line of succession to the throne. |
== Notes == |
The "service" that Arkwright provides Statchik, is only provided by him and by Harrods, "a slightly bigger shop down the road" |
