The reversed "E" is just a part of Eminem's trademark. It makes as much sense to call his own article "Emin3m". The name of this album, therefore, is Encore, not 3ncore. Use your common sense. 2Pac 19:43, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Rap or Hip-hop Dispute

People, when you make a page on Eminem. Remember he's a rap artist. Not hip hop.

As far as Wikipedia is concerned, Rap music is Hip-hop. If you feel like the two subjects need splitting, head over to Talk:Hip hop music and make your case there. • Rap is by no means the same thing as hip-hop. Although the media tries to sell it off as the same thing, it's not. Hip-hop is a culture or movement that began in the streets. Rap is the music of that culture. Hip-hop itself is not a form of music. Hip-hop consists of rap (among other things), breakdancing, and different styles of dressing and slang.

You're all forgetting that the meanings of words evolve as people use them. Although "hip hop" may have once referred to a broad social movement encompassing the musical genre of "rap," it is now synonymous with rap as it is used in the context of music. Enough of the anti-commercial dingbats saying "hip hop" and "rap" aren't the same; even if hip hop didn't specifically denote a genre of music, rap is a subset of hip hop, and so if Eminem is a rap artist, he is also a hip-hop artist by default. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.92.109.56 (talk) 21:08, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

question about word usage

I read this phrase in the introduction "due to the leakage of the album on the Internet." I thought that was an extremely awkward and possibly incorrect use of the word "leakage". I don't recall ever having heard the word leakage used like this; it does not mean "the state of being leaked", it refers to more of a process of leaking, and the "leak" of intellectual property is generally considered to be a one-time event>> It hasn't leaked, it leaked then, it has leaked.
