A fictional version of Genoa City, Wisconsin, USA is the setting for the long-running American soap opera The Young and the Restless. The real and fictional towns are similar only in name. Although the real Genoa City is a village with just over 2,000 people, the version depicted on the soap opera is a mid-sized city.

Within the city boundaries are many office buildings, a major international airport and a top hospital. Genoa City also happens to be home to many large companies, including two large conglomerates, the internationally known Jabot Cosmetics, which is a high-end cosmetics firm, and a new company called NVP Retreats. Genoa City is also home to Fenmore Department stores.

The city is also home to State Senator Jack Abbott, who uses Newman Tower as his base of operations.

Throughout the city you can find many homes, including Condominiums, basic houses, farms and luxurious estates. Two prominent estates are the Abbott Mansion and the Chancellor Estate. The other major residence of note is the Newman Ranch, home to Genoa City's most prominent denizens, the Newman family.

Education is important to the city and it includes such fine schools as Genoa City Elementary, Walnut Grove Academy and Genoa City University, also known simply as GCU.

Ironically, the fictional town uses Lake Racine as a mid- to large-sized lake in the area, while Racine is near Lake Geneva in Wisconsin.
