Robert "Robbie" Jackson (né Bolton) was a fictional character in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders. He was played by Dean Gaffney from 1993 to 2003.

Robbie never seemed to have much luck in life and no matter how hard he tried he always seemed to fall flat on his face. His luck with women was equally as bad, but he could always rely on his one true friend Wellard the dog.

History

Robbie is the second of Carol Jackson's four children and arrived in the Square in 1993 with the rest of the Jackson clan - stepfather Alan, sisters Bianca and Sonia, brother Billy and stepgrandmother Blossom. Robbie was a bit of a no-hoper and he had several careers in Albert Square including a job as manager in the local video rental store (which he lost due to Barry Evans' interference) and more recently the market road sweeper. After numerous failed romances, including engagements to Kerry Skinner and Sarah Hills, Robbie decided to track down his birth father, Gary Bolton. He found him in Portsmouth, and discovered he had a half brother, Kevin. Gary gave him a large cheque which allowed him to travel around India, and pay for sister Sonia's nursing training.

Robbie returned to Walford and met young widow Nita Mistry. They lived together with Nita's son Anish, but Nita decided to go and live in India with her parents, who could provide for Anish better than she could. Robbie went with her and they now live in Mumbai together.

Robbie had a dog, called Wellard, but when Robbie went to India, he gave Wellard to Gus Smith to look after.

He returned briefly for Sonia and Martin Fowler's wedding in 2004.
