Template:Nihongo title is a new Yu-Gi-Oh! series scheduled to air in Japan from April 2, 2008, which will replace Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX) which is, as of March 2008, airing in the time slot.

The main Duel Disk is a motorcycle called a "D-Wheel", and duels now take place in stadiums and are called Riding Duels.[1] Confirmed details state that the main character, Yūsei Fudō, will be 18 and his main card will be "Stardust Dragon", which is also the Cover Card for The Duelist Genesis.

As with the previous two series, this series has been acquired by 4Kids Entertainment.[2] As such, it is expected to be significantly altered for the U.S. broadcast, including but not limited to, the changing of character names, removal of Japanese and English writing, Americanization, changing of characters' nationalities from Japanese to American, etc.

Characters

  • Yūsei Fudō (不動遊星, Fudō Yūsei, 18 years old): The main character of the series, he plays a Synchro/Tuner deck that revolves around the Stardust Dragon card. He is known for his genius style dueling, his considerable duel skill, and his cool and clever personality. [3]
  • Jack Atlas (ジャック・ アトラス, Jakku Atorasu): Jack is Yusei's rival. He controls the "King", and is known as the "Absolute King of the Riding Duel". He fears Yūsei's genius-like dueling, which has crushed every battle opponent in his path. His signature card is called Red Daemon's Dragon. [4]
  • Aki Izayoi (十六夜 アキ, Izayoi Aki): Aki is a girl with the "Super Ability", a power that can only be used through anguish and sadness. However, meeting Yūsei changes things. [5]
  • Rua (龍亞, Rua): Rua is the lively and blundering twin brother of Ruka. [6]
  • Ruka (龍可, Ruka): Ruka is the calm and collected twin sister of Rua. [6]
