Dr. Steven Gabbe is the current dean of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. On April 4, 2008, Dr. Gabbe was named Chief Executive and Senior Vice President of Health Sciences at Ohio State by President Gordon Gee. [1] Gabbe was at the Ohio State University for nine years as a professor and chairman of obstetrics and gynecology in the College of Medicine.
He left in 1996 for the University of Washington and was recruited to Vanderbilt as Dean of the Vanderbilt School of Medicine by past Vanderbilt University President Gordon Gee in 2002. Gabbe is considered one of the world's leading experts on diabetes and pregnancy.[citation needed]
