Gabe Saporta

Gabriel Eduardo Saporta (born October 11, 1979 in Montevideo, Uruguay) is the former lead singer, bassist and lyricist for the punk band Midtown, and is currently the lead singer and primary creative force behind the band Cobra Starship. In 2006, Gabe and William Beckett of The Academy Is..., Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, and Maja Ivarsson of The Sounds appeared on Cobra Starship's first single, "Bring It (Snakes On A Plane)", and later appeared in a music video for the song. The song was featured on the soundtrack of the movie Snakes On A Plane and played during the closing credits of the film. The band now consists of new members Victoria Asher, Ryland Blackinton, Nate Novarro, and Alex Suarez.

Saporta grew up in Springfield Township, Union County, New Jersey.[1] Prior to starting Midtown, Saporta was in the New Jersey based punk rock band Humble Beginnings.

Cobra Starship is signed to the Decaydance imprint on the Fueled by Ramen record label. Cobra Starship released their second album Viva La Cobra! on October 23rd, 2007.
