Rail Corporation New South Wales (RailCorp) is a wholly owned by the government of New South Wales, part of the New South Wales Railways. RailCorp was formed on 1 January 2004 by the merger of the former New South Wales State Rail Authority (SRA) and the the metropolitan functions of the Railway Infrastructure Corporation. Parts of the Rail Infrastructure Corporation, however, still has duties outside of the CityRail network, including interstate and rural lines, as well as freight services.

RailCorp owns and maintains the Sydney metropolitan rail network CityRail and rural passenger services CountryLink. It also provides freight operators with access to the rails of the Sydney metropolitan area.
