Jermichael Finley (born March 26, 1987 in Lufkin, Texas) is an American football tight end for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Packers in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at Texas and is originally from the town of Diboll, Texas where he played 3A football and played the key role in the small school's basketball program.

College career

On January 82008, Finley announced he would forgo his junior and senior seasons of eligibility to enter the NFL by declaring himself eligible for the 2008 NFL Draft. Longhorn head coach Mack Brown said "Finley finished his career ranked among the most productive receiving tight ends in school history and handled himself well both on and off the field during his time at Texas."[1]

Professional career

Finley was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft.[2] He will battle Tory Humphrey in training camp to be the Packers' No. 2 tight end.[3]

Personal

Finley has two daughters, one who lives with her mother in another city. He is raising his second daughter with his wife Courtney. He is the half brother of Texas A&M running back Jorvorskie Lane.[4]
