The Magician is a 2008 novel by Irish author Michael Scott, the second part in the six-book series The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, and is the sequel to The Alchemyst: The Secrets Of The Immortal Nicholas Flamel . It was released on 5 June 2008 in the United Kingdom, and will be released on 24 June 2008 in the United States.

Plot Summary

Sophie and Josh Newman are in Paris and have to face an immortal human Niccolò Machiavelli along with his colleague and enemy Dr. John Dee, now they must go to a friend and student to Nicholas Flamel, a magician, alchemist, famous rock star and count, his name is Comte de Saint-Germain and he must teach Sophie the second elemental magic, Fire. Also, they must awaken the other twin, Josh Newman's powers; however things don't go the way they were intended and Josh is in deep trouble, he is awakened under the legendary catacombs of Paris by a Dark Elder: Mars Ultor, the God whom a Planet was named after and was worshiped for centuries; however, Josh has made a terrible mistake, and must pay the price severely. They take a shortcut and exit the catacombs along with Saint Geramin' wife, Joan The Arc, who's Aura is pure silver, just like Sophie's, but not as pure. When they leave they come out of a tunnel that leads to Notre Dame, and Josh is very claustraphobic and so they stop so he can take his breath back and ret, as he has just been awakened. Out of nowhere, the gargoyeles spring to life and the prophecy in the codex is proven, the twins are the twins of legend and the two that are one, the one that is all. Josh touches sophie and together their powers are unstoppable and unexauhstable, and soo after they destroy the gargoyles, they escape to London, Dee;s hometown and the place where he is his strongest.

Sequel

The sequel to this book, The Sorceress: The Secrets Of The Immortal Nicholas Flamel will be released Q2 2009.
