Phoebe Tonkin (born October 17, 1989 in Sydney, Australia) is an Australian actress and model. She portrays Cleo Sertori in the television programme H2O: Just Add Water.

Early Life

Phoebe Tonkin was born in Sydney in 1989 and from the age of 4 participated in various dance classes including classical ballet, tap, hip hop, and contemporary dance.

Keen to pursue her passion for acting, Phoebe completed various courses at the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) at the Wharf Theatre from the age of 12. Courses at ATYP included Shakespeare, Script to Stage, Clowning Around, and Musical Theatre.

Attending Queenwood school at Balmoral, and Loreto Kirribilli, renowned for its excellent drama department, Phoebe attended private drama classes and became involved in all school productions including Antigone, White Crane and Venetian Twins. Each year Phoebe took part in the school's Shakespeare festival culminating in winning the state final in 2005 in a Midsummer Nights Dream.

TV/Film

Phoebe's first and only television show appearance is on the Australian teen show H2O: Just Add Water, where she plays one of the main characters, Cleo Sertori. While not a strong swimmer, Phoebe worked hard to improve her abilities during pre-production of the show. On October 20 2007, she attended the Nickelodeon UK Kids Choice Awards , where she presented the award for best band alongside her co-stars Claire Holt and Cariba Heine. At 18 Phoebe is the youngest member of the principal cast of H2O. She recently starred in the new commercial for the Vauxhall Meriva and Zafira car lines, she is seated on a bus right at the start of the advert.
