Could somebody please help clean this up. The section on the Shriners makes some serious leaps in logic. There is almost no mention of the conflicted history of the FOI. From founding to today, they have been split. In one split, they were dismissed for reasons of their paramilitary nature and history of abuse of power. Also, all the discussion of freemasonry is irrelevant to this topic and takes the FOI out of context.

Police

FOI is basically the "police force" of the NOI, should be in the article under another paragraph.Gorgeousp 00:40, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

On the other hand, the Brown Shirts were basically the "police force" of the National Socialist German Workers' Party - the NSDAP or 'Nazis' - in the years before they successfully seized power nationally... But researching the terms "Fruit of Islam" or "Brown Shirts" today, how many people would initially know enough about either "police force" to look them up under their parent political movement?

I'd advocate against merging the two articles. The FOI is a legitimate second topic, dealing with an organization that is substantially different than its parent organization. The FOI can and should be discussed in stub form in the NOI article with a link here for more detailed discussion. RBPierce 15:07, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The FOI are not the same as the Nazis; in the 78 years that the FOI has been in America they never kill one Jewish person or White person. Yes, they did call White people the Devil, but this was only “Psychology” to give White Americans a mirror so they could look at themselves. Back in those time White Americans were lynching (Murdering) Black people just because they were Black, so Elijah Muhammad started calling them “Devils”. White Americans would tell Elijah Muhammad “I’m not the Devil!” Then Elijah Muhammad would tell them “Then prove it and show me that you are not the Devil!” White Americans start saying this is bad Elijah Muhammad & Malcolm X is going around the World and tell all the darker people that the White Man in America is the Devil we have to do something about this. So the White Americans start making lynching laws and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to prove that they were not the devil. In the early 1970s Elijah Muhammad told his follows to stop calling White Americans “Devils”, because they start make laws against segregation and racism. Today we (Black Americans) can’t go around calling White Americans “Devils”, because White Americans are not killing Blacks. The number one killers of Black People are Black People! Again, this was only Psychology, and any person no matter what color or race they maybe they can be a devil. The Dictionary says Devil means, 1. Evil spirit, an evil spirit, particularly a subordinate of Satan. 2. Offensive term, somebody who is regarded as evil, unpleasant, or violent. 3. Mischievous person or animal, a mischievous, troublesome, or high-spirited person or animal. All Fruit of Islam members are not racist. Adolf Hitler & the Nazi Party were Christians, and Pope Benedict XVI was a member of the Nazi Party when he was a young man. See Pope's Nazi past at MSNBC TVhttp://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7576505/” So, should I call all White Christians & Catholics members "Nazis, Brown Shirts or National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP)?" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.42.68.5 (talk) 18:17, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FOI?

Are the guys in the white hats in the background Fruits of Islam? If not, who were they?

http://www.tomgpalmer.com/images/Martin%20Luther%20King.bmp

The men with Dr. King in the white hats were U.S. NAVY MEN not FOI; Elijah Muhammad did not allow his followers (FOI) to march with Dr. King. There were no FOI at Dr. King’s march in Washington D.C… I am a FOI and if you have anymore questions; I would be more then happen to answer them.

This article is getting worse. More information is being posted, but no editing is occuring.

The article is good background on the group but it is clearly written by someone who shares their beliefs.

These men are the fruit of the life giving teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

That sentence is a good example of what I mean. I think the article is great, it just needs to be reworded from a neutral viewpoint.

Information missing

Who knows:

  • how many are there (originally, historically, and now)
  • when were they founded?
  • who were they founded by?
  • who is their leader?
  • what is their mission statement?

Let's flesh out this article! Thanks, Maikel (talk) 10:58, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
