The school will re-open in September 2008 as a [[city academy]] known as the Oasis Academy.Academies are publicly funded independent schools. The majority of funding for building and facility costs comes direct from central government (Department for Children, Schools and Families, or DCSF). The DCSF also funds the annual running costs of the Academy via a grant each academic year.Oasis hopes to work closely with the entire community,and local businesses aswell as the students and parents.
