Elmer L. Meyers Junior/Senior High School (commonly known throughout the area as 'E. L. Meyers' or 'Meyers') is located on 341 Carey Avenue, in Wilkes-Barre, PA. It is one of three public high schools in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District. Meyers is both a junior and senior public high school, offering education to nearly 1000 students in grades 7-12. The student to teacher ratio is approximately 14 students per teacher. Meyers and G.A.R High school has one of the longest rilvalrys in the wyoming valley. Unlike G.A.R Meyers high school was never renovated but still stands tall and proud and is a land mark for Wilkes-Barre.Meyers High School sets an example of academic as well as athletic programs for the Younger schools like WVW, Wyoming area, and Pittston area.

Awards

In December 2007, Meyers received a 'bronze' placing in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2008 “Best High Schools” list, which is given to schools that exceed expectations for less-advantaged students.
