He has been a controversial figure within the player communities of both games for taking a strongly purist attitude towards large team-play balance, rather than balancing classes in 1v1 situations. This upset the wide community as some of the best in-game rewards were given out for small party PvP (2v2), hence destroying any credibility of balancing characters around large team play. This is widely seen to have endeared him and fellow designer Jeffrey Kaplan to "hardcore" customers who had enough time to roll different classes as they become overpowered in small team play. |
