Donovan Cook was born in [[California]] in 1968. He grew up in Antioch, California, until moving to San Diego his sophomore year of high school (1984). In San Diego he took up surfing and played water polo on his high school team. He also started concentrating on art, working in many different mediums. After high school in San Diego he attended junior college to continue his art studies, where he worked on his portfolio and continued to hone his skills. After junior college he applied to [[California Institute of the Arts]]. Upon seeing his portfolio in an application interview he was accepted into the school on the spot. He graduated from the [[California Institute of the Arts]] in 1990 and has worked on several different Disney [[animated movies]], such as ''[[The Little Mermaid (1989 film)|The Little Mermaid]]'' and the [[Mickey Mouse]] adaptation of ''[[The Prince and the Pauper]]''. In 1992 he created the [[Emmy]] nominated tv series ''[[2 Stupid Dogs]]'' for [[Hanna-Barbera Studios]], which was significant in bringing back the extremely graphic style Hanna-Barbera cartoons had in the 1950s and 60s. The style he revived in "2 Stupid Dogs" has been emulated and copied numerous times since. Donovan then returned to Disney where he developed and produced the ground breaking series [[Nightmare Ned]]. In 1998, he returned to feature animation when he co-directed [[Return to Never Land]] for Disney. Donovan Cook is an American film director, most well-known for the Disney animated feature Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers.
