Courtney Pine (born 18 March 1964) is a British jazz musician. At school he studied clarinet, although he is known primarily for his saxophone playing. Pine is a multi-instrumentalist, also playing the flute, clarinet and keyboards.

His recent music has attempted to integrate modern British music like drum and bass and UK garage with contemporary jazz styles. He runs his own band and integrates many contemporary musicians in his performances. He also presents 'Jazz Crusade' on BBC Radio 2, the seventh series being broadcast during spring 2007.

Pine was awarded an OBE in 2000 for services to jazz.

He was also awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Westminster (06/12/04).

Appearing on the BBC series 'Made in England,' attempting to produce a jazz track with influences from Holy Island in Northumberland. Taking the folk values and collecting them together with jazz.

Pine is appearing as an advocate for Pierre Boulez on BBC World News classical music programme Visionaries [1]in August 2008.
